Chamberlain-Hunt Academy is a Christian, military, boarding school established by the Presbytery of Mississippi in Port Gibson in 1879. First, Chamberlain-Hunt is a Christian school. God has made us for his glory, and, therefore, everything that is taught in the classroom, achieved on the playing field, or modeled in relationships is done to the best of our ability to the honor and glory of God. The Abundant Life Leadership Academy is a highly intensive academic/family restoration and leadership program designed to restore the troubled teen and his/her family in a very short time period. During the 45 to 60 day Challenge Camp the student (both boys and girls, ages 14 to 18) is refocused on academic performance, developing emotional maturity (learning to make proactive/prosocial choices), dealing with adversity (taking responsibility for past poor choices), setting and achieving new goals (proactive and sequential planning), and family restoration (submitting to parental authority).

As of 2002, Edgewood Children’s Ranch has had nearly a 90% success rate serving more than 3600 frightened, troubled boys and girls. In 2001 there were 93 children who benefited from the program and 129 parents were provided with parenting classes.

Through its residential coeducational program for boys and girls, ages 6-17, the Ranch today is able to accommodate more than 70 children at a time. Yet the methods and goals are the same as in 1966 – love and prayer, bringing about mended hearts and lives.

Heartlight was founded in 1989 as a non-profit Christian residential counseling opportunity dedicated to helping adolescents and their families work through difficult situations. Mount Carmel Youth Ranch is a troubled teen program for at-risk youth that uses real life experiences on a cattle ranch to dignify and increase the self-esteem of the troubled youth. Our “Real Life Therapy” is in a true western setting, and is accomplished with a Catholic Faith focus.
